In searching through the impressive archives of the Brodhead Historical Society, I found this switchboard operator book from 1913 with M. M. McNair listed, and Grace penciled in as the contact due to Miles' passing in early November of that year.

I'm finding myself sometimes heavy hearted in researching, as I am finding you glean some of the most important clues within the times of deaths of people you grow attached to. It is such melancholy seeing death notices and revised records, but they indeed offer some important clues.

As I had assumed based on my research, and mentioned in Grace Goes West ... she was with Miles through his death and was living at Sunnyside prior to moving to California in 1916.
